World's worst dad?

It shames me to see that we haven't blogged about Lily in more than three months. So much has changed that I'm not even sure where to start. Here are a few mini-milestones she has reached over the past couple of months:

  • She now has just enough hair for a couple of little piggy tails in the back. She sported them for the Allen family Easter-egg hunt last week...I'll try to post some pics later.
  • She is talking like crazy, repeating almost everything we say and pronouncing much of it quite well. Some of her favorite words currently include "nuh-won" (another one), "uh-tares" (upstairs), "messy messy" (just what it sounds like), "touch it," "kuh-lah" (color), and "wiss-oh" (whistle).
  • She has finally picked up on some of the good behaviors we've been trying to teach her. A few weeks ago when we sat down to dinner, she looked at us, unprompted, and said "pair pair?" (prayer) while folding her arms. It just about had us in tears. This has since become one of her favorite things to do...we hear it about 20 times a day.
  • She amazes us with how quickly she is putting thoughts together. When we say "library," she says "books." Ever since we fed the horses in Grandpa Allen's pasture, she's been saying "horse...grass!" And when we say "not right now," she has been responding with "lay-da" (later). It's clear she's getting her looks and her brains from Wendy. (All she got from me was the retarded pinky-nails...)
Lily is now 15 months old, and is more fun every day. She's got nearly a full mouth of teeth, bright blue eyes, and scrawny little legs. At her 15 month check-up a week ago, she only weighed in at 18 pounds. She loves to swing, hide, explore, and climb. She's still drinking a bottle (we know, we know) and can't figure out how to get off the couch or down the stairs by herself, but she charms us to death by asking for our help ("Mommy, hand, upstairs!"). We love her like crazy and can't remember what life was like without our little munchkin.

She is a sweet little girl, and changes so much each time I see her. You guys are great parents too. We can tell that you love her.

Adorable, everything about your little family is so great. I look up to you guys so much! You're going to be a wonderful resource for Matt and I, and I can't wait to share milestones with you too.

She is also quite mobile. She was all over the place at the park today, even climbing up teh steps to the big slide all by herself! I love the pigtails, they are adorable.
